Random Spring Thoughts

I’m amazed at how fast dandelions grow. You cut off their heads and the next day, bright yellow specs of madness fill your eyes.It reminds me of the flood of people on State street. You can not escape the people trying to enjoy the weather that is the opposite of winter in Madison.

It is kind of incredible- the spring season. Cartoony colors everywhere combined with the aromatic smells of flowers is unique to the spring season.  Spring changes your mood. The warm sunlight on your skin and blue skies make the outdoors the place to be.

Bike riding, cookouts, evening walks, beach blankets, the morning birds that wake you up,girls in bikinis anywhere there is a field of grass, loud music coming from cars with the windows down, drinking by the lake, long lines of slow walkers on state street, reckless wasting of time, people tossing footballs and frisbees  seem to be the visual language of spring.Ironically, artist can be inspired by these things but don’t have time to really indulge in them. At least I don’t. Maybe I will find a quite place , somewhere I can sit and paint the landscape, and make work and enjoy the day at the same time.
