Where was I?????

It’s time for me to make a new drawing. I have new ideas now that the critiques and life hassles can be put on the shelf or swept under the rug. I’m ready for a little isolation.I have a sense of how I can spend my time this semester. Life can sometimes rob you of your creativity. If you don’t stay hungry and agitated your art is going to suffer.

One day you will wake up and find yourself in the position of Rocky, before he fights Clubber Lang for the first time; you are complacent, admiring your own accomplishments, and the truth is you  just are not as hungry as you once were. If you have the heart of a champion you can get back the desire but you have to be willing to work for it and sacrifice comfortable ways. You have to do the old things that made you fierce.  You have to go in your shell and keep people out. Stop hanging out with bums. I’ve been limiting my accessibility to people, especially those that do not love what I love with the same kind of passion I have.

The crowd has thinned out and I am left looking at my art. It’s time to make another work that eats any inferior art that gets to close. My last drawing was this 9 ft by 11ft beast below this text- “Grosz Moments in the Garden of Comic Delight.” I felt like this beast took a lot out of me but I am ready to make another. I headed to the art store yesterday and stocked up on Microns and Pitt Pens. TL’s  and Jack’s advice floats around my head. They both think highly of my work and told me I could have a career in this art world. My reply was I don’t want a career, I want to be great, so as long as I’m here, keep me honest!
